I'm looking for a Close Contact (Jumping) saddle that is wool flocked and had adjustable knee AND thigh blocks. If you could name any brand+model that fits that requirement, please tell me! I'll love you forever!
I just looked up the Merina. Looks like a lovely saddle, but it said that they're foam flocked :( I tried looking up some of M Toulouse's other models, but the closest I can find to 100% wool flocking are ones with Foam/Wool mix. I don't know anything about mixed pannels... although I imagine they'd be hard to adjust. Are they?
I know that we've recently started bringing in Bates saddles with flocking. I've so far only seen the dressage ones, still waiting on the shipment with the jumping and GP saddles. I know the cair close contact had adjustable kneeblocks. As does the Bates Momentum event saddle (although I'm not sure if that comes in a flock yet?) You'd have to speak to your local stockist to find out.
The Wintec 500 close contact (new version), also comes with a flock, but again, not sure about the knee rolls being adjustable. I don't see why they wouldn't be though, since the original version is.
Up the price scale, Prestige Italy does a beautiful eventing saddle which is flocked, comes with different sized knee/thigh rolls, and those are fully adjustable too. Also 'close contact' being as it's a jumping saddle.
You could email them and find out. Or else, I could try find out at work tomorrow. As I said, we've brought in the Bates dressage with a flocked panel, as well as the GP. So I'm *hoping* the jumping/momentum saddles are going to come in a flock too.
We don't stock the hunter/jumper as it's not a discipline we have here.
If you find out, let me know! I'll also try emailing them.
Also, I tried searching "Prestige Italy", and although I found Prestige saddles, I'm not sure if I found the particular one you mentioned. Does it have a different model name? Is it just called the eventing one?
Ah, yes, if you go to the Jump saddles section it's on the second page and it's just called the Eventing saddle. The picture they have is of black leather, but personally I think I prefer the syle in brown.
