Change the bit?

The horse I just bought has only had a plain ol o-ring snaffle bit. I've been told that they are only good to train a horse in and that others may be easier to handle a horse in. On the other hand, a few people have told me that if he's used only one kind of bit and he's ok with it, I should just keep him in the same one?? What should I do?? Thanks again..

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If he has no issue with it, there's no reason to change it, unless you plan to do western shows (I saw your other thread about the saddle), then you'd be required to put him in some sort of curb bit.

Exactly. We ride all our mares (7 to 17 yrs old) in plain old eggbutt snaffles.

On the sixth day, God created the Quarter Horse.
On the seventh day, he Painted the good ones.
