Circle Y Saddle

Hi All ... This is a very long shot ... Nearly 30 years ago I traded an Arab filly for a Circle Y Saddle ... This saddle has "a lot" of silver on it ... I have never seen one with much silver ... I was told it was in a parade once, and it looked new ... It's unbelievably nice ... I let a woman use it twice in an A rated show (she won) ... All of this is a side note ... I put it in storage for all these years and 3 years ago I got it out and cleaned the leather and silver because I wanted to sell it ... Like new ... I then noticed that there was a place where a serial number plate or similar was missing ... This is after 25 years ... I e-mailed Circle Y and asked if anyone in their history had reported a stolen saddle (no response) ... I moved to FL from NY 25 yrs ago and brought the saddle with me ... I can't remember the name or exact location of the woman I traded the filly to , but it was near Auburn, NY (central NY) ... Maybe someone took the serial number or maybe this saddle was stolen , I don't know ... I want to sell it as I have no need for it ... It belongs in a parade or show ... Now back to the long shot ... If anyone knows of anyone that lost a Circle Y or had it stolen and can prove this one is theirs, it will be ... Think back, check your friends or memory ... Thank You !

Can we see some pics. Someone may have removed the plate to fraudulently represent a saddle as a circle y. I'm thinking that is likely the scenario, not that your's had been stolen. Don't even suggest publicly that you'd consider returning it or you will be inundated with scammers claiming it's theirs.

Photos of saddle

Hi and thanks for your reply ... I have several photos of the saddle , however I purposely didn't post them ... I want anyone that may have lost this saddle to be able to thoroughly describe or show "me" a picture of it ... I have looked at Circle Y saddles and cannot find one with this much silver ... It may have been custom made ... Thanks again ...

That was my thought too.

It was a very long time ago.
Why exactly did not you not look further for the old owner at that point?

Hi and thanks for your post ... I am sorry , I thought I was clear when I wrote that I was unaware of a missing ID for "25 years" ... That's why I didn't look for an owner then ... I did write (as mentioned) to Circle Y and got no response ... All others please read my first post and help me if you can ...

I did read and re-read your original post.
It was just not that clear.
Sorry I asked.

Circle Y doesn't make custom saddles. They are a factory with everything set up for whatever run they are on. The law on ownership does have a statute of limitations, usually after 3 years it is yours no matter whether it had been stolen or not. If it had been stolen an insurance claim was likely paid out. The ins. Company isn't interested in having ancient history raked over, they won't spend the time to investigate.

Dots are fun. My new cell phone even has an option for the shift of one key to be the three dots. So there.
