Cleaning a Fly Sheet

I have the Rambo Protector fly sheet and it's very dirty...so I need to clean it. I'm not sure how, this is my first fly sheet and blanket type thing. xD A laundry machine is out because it has metal on it and I'd think that would scratch up the laundry machine.

So...garden hose and some kind of soap? Dawn dish soap?

I was going to suggest a pressure washer; you can do that at a self-wash car wash. I have a small one at home and use it to clean everything - quick fast and good. However, looking at what your fly sheet is, a soft one, I would go with SlideStop's suggestion ...

I'd fill a large bin with some hot soapy water and give it a good soak. Than hang it on the fence and spray the heck out of it with the hose.

Honestly, I wash my Rambo fly sheets in the washing machine and I've never had a problem with the buckles, just wash them with a full load so the buckles aren't completely flying around and then hang them to dry.

I have also used a hose, regular soap, and a car washing brush and washed them out in the driveway.

I wash all of my blankets in the washing machine - other than the really heavy outdoor one's that won't fit in it - it's never done it any harm, but then it is my machine and I don't have a parent to answer too if anything does go wrong!!!
I'd also suggest you get a tub of some sort - maybe a trash bin and hand wash it . leave it to soak a while first and then hose it a few times to rinse it clean
Some regular DIY laundrette places will accept horse blankets

I would probably set it on a lower setting (delicate or something similar) to minimize the buckles banging into the machine, just probably do an extra rinse as the water gets pretty gross. I use regular Febreeze/Tide laundry detergent, really makes them smell better. Dish soap works fine for washing them in bucket.

I throw all my blankets in the washing machine... You could take it to a laundry mat and use their washing machines. Only suggestion is to make sure that the velcro is attached it itself. The velcro will snag the material of most fly sheets. Found that out the hard way.

Personally I just use the washing machine on mine. I just use the regular washing cycle. I also tape all the metal areas with some masking tape. I've never had an issue with it damaging anything. I usually was both horse's blankets at the same time, but have occassionally just washed one and never had an issue with it.
