Hi,

I'm looking for a close contact saddle for myself. I don't know which brands are good, I like the look of a pessoa or a m.toulouse.

I need one to jump around in and possibly show in.

What is it you're looking for people to tell you?

All of the well made brands have close contact models. It's merely a matter of personal preference which brand you purchase.

You need to find one that's fits the horse, too. CC trees tend to be quite flat and if your horse has a concave back profile many won't be suitable. Panels tend to be foam or fibre which are non-adjustable, no good if the horse has pronounced shoulders or hollows behind them.

I think most horses in general use (ie. Used for a multitude of activities by largely non-professional riders) are better of with a flocked, conventional-panelled saddle designed for the relevant discipline, or a GP/AP if one saddle is to be used for a number of different jobs.

If you're stuck on CCs, the best plan (if you are able) is to get to a store and sit on a number of different models to find which is most comfortable for you.

Do stay with reputable brands as jumping puts a lot of stress on the saddle. Barnsby, Passier, even Stubben is ok, Albion, Pessoa. There are others - just can't think of them at the moment.

IMO I adore Beval CC saddles. Those saddles are amazing, although they don't have as much seat padding as some other CC saddles I've seen.
Collegiate makes great saddles for a low budget, I owned the Diploma and loved it.
