Colors for my chestnut to wear - pics pls!

Hi there! I am trying to decide on colors for my coppery flaxen chestnut to wear. I am thinking a primary and a secondary (accent) color. I'm leaning toward a blue for the primary - electric blue, colonial blue or turquoise. Secondary I'm thinking maybe purple? green? silver? What do you all think?! What colors look good on your chestnut? what combos do you like? Post pics, please!

My chestnut's color is royal blue, but he also looks fabbo in hunter green. No pics, sorry.

I've always loved turquoise/teal (because it's more than your average blue) but couldn't find a good selection that carried that color so I settled on violet/purple. If you can, definitely try the turquoise I would imagine black or white would look good for a secondary color. It sounds plain at first but just seeing turquoise gets my attention!

If this is heaven, I'm not sure I wanna know what hell's like!

If it was heaven, I wouldn't have to pay a mortgage or cut 5 acres of grass, and my horses would never poop!

Alright after a quick google of saddle pad examples apparently turquoise and teal aren't the same thing heh. In that case, I LOVE teal on horses but like I said it's hard to find

Thanks, amymarie! Yeah, I've been leaning toward turquoise...and I want a secondary that will look nice - but perhaps you are right (and ever so tactfully )- an additional color might be gaudy. I was thinking maybe a small amount of purple with the turquoise, but that may just be too much. Maybe silver or gold would be a better option for a secondary? Or even just white... though that probably gets pretty dirty looking fast.

I'm liking the idea of a neutral color for your secondary choice because I'm horrible with matching but I DO know neutrals go good with anything lol. Do you have pictures/examples of what a silver or gold would look like when matched with a turquoise? I'm having a hard time picturing it. It could look pretty good though I've never thought of that combo. The turquoise with a bit of purple could be pretty too! Like a dark or light purple?

Check out Hobby Horse's site, they have a color wheel with horse colors & gear colors.

I don't have any chestnuts, but love seeing them in Royal Blue\silver, Navy\cream or Hunter\cream. I like turquoise on others but its not for me, my first show outfit (we're talking 28 yrs ago) was turquoise & black, down to the turquoise boots & chaps, I grew to despise that color but never got missed by a judge. Also learned to have very quiet legs when u are wearing such loud chaps & boots lol!

amymarie - I was thinking a light purple - but you know, it may just be too much trouble to try to coordiante two vibrant colors.

mhfq - that color wheel was very useful! Of course, they advise against bright colors for adults but I guess I have a bright personality :P. The color wheel got me thinking of maybe a brown/tan as the neutral compliment to Turquoise.
