Smile Confession time:who has too much stuff!

I need to convince my hubby I don't have too much stuff, that all Equestrians keep overloaded tack boxes/areas.......who else has a too much stuff?
For 2 horses I have:
3 saddles (1 training, 1 reining, 1 standard trail saddle)
3 rugs
6 headstalls (2 draft size, 1 nylon and 1 leather, 4 standard size, 1 fancy show bridle, 1 one eared bridle, 1 nutural bitless bridle and 1 boring old brown leather halter for trails.)
probably about 10 different halters, varying sizes, colors, materials.
2 helmets (1 pink and 1 black, I can't bear to thrown the black one out even though it's cracked, it was a gift)
2 lunge lines (a pretty blue one and a standard brown one with a dongle on the end)
2 lunge whips (I always misplace 1)
a medical kit
a grooming kit that is actually a tool box overloaded with brushes, combs, picks, all the standard grooming fare
at least 2 bags of treats (in my defense, each horse prefers a different kind!)
2 pairs of wellies, 2 pairs of socks, winter hats and gloves.

So yeah, I have a lot of stuff, but I don't think it's pack ratting! Do you?

nope! that's not a lot at all! I'm a self proclaimed tack hoarder ;)
I have 3 horses (1 rideable, 1 broodmare, 1 filly)
-2 saddles (CC/Dressage) and looking for a 3rd and possibly 4th
-ATLEAST 12 bridles (love 'em)
-ATLEAST 10 pretty browbands (love 'em too)
-8ish blankets/sheets
-about 15 halters
-probably 6 quarter/exercise sheets
-3 helmets
-20+ saddle pads
-5 half pads
-probably 10 sets/pairs of horse boots (love them too)
-TONS of brushes
-8 breastplates of various styles/colors
-4 martingales

...there is a lot more than that too, but I just had my wisdom teeth taken out and the painkillers are affecting my memory - haha!

No not at all!! After all, the day you get rid of it is the day you'll need it....I personally don't have multiples of everything, but I've only owned my own horse for five months! However, I am in the process of buying things that I probably won't need, like a stethascope and pill crusher, and probably an ice boot......but thats only because my barn doesn't have these things already!

I know I was also thinking of getting one of the fellow boarders a rasp because she doesn't have one, but needed it this past week when her horse threw a shoe loose.....I think I really just have a problem spending money! lol

Oh, pretty things don't count! You have to have those things......Your saddle pad collection blows my mind, lol! I only have a tiny corner of the tack room to share with 20 other boarders, they would probably shoot me if I had more!
Take it easy and heal well from your wisdom teeth, I had mine done a while ago and know how ouchie it is!

Haha! That's good, so technically my collection isn't that big. And a lot of my saddle pads were won...and I like having clean ones to use So that adds to the collection. Thanks for the well wishes!!!

HAHAHA! You think you're bad? My friend calls me a tack-aholic! I can't go somwhere without finding SOMETHING that I feel I need or may need or think someone else might need and buying it. For one horse and foal I have: Three saddles(one english, one aussie that is missing an overgirth, and my new western), four saddle blankets(one for each and a spare one for the western), at least five adult halters(even though she only really needs one.), two foal halters (and I've started looking at halters that would look good on him in the future...^.^), One show halter(arabian), four leads, like eight bits. two headstalls, an extra stud chain, four hoof picks, a plethora of misc. brushes and a couple of buckets that have random bottles of scarlet oil, thrush remedies, fly spray....all that stuff, a medical box, and some other stuff that my head refuses to think of....ALL of that for one mare and one foal...I'm silly! :) OH! And one random stirrup and fender from I don't even know where! You, my friend are running pretty light compared to me! XD

Bwahahaha! I am not passing that onto my husband, I'll be branded forever! I forgot about my buckets and my (insane) bit collection.....I keep that at home hidden in a secret cupboard in the garage (along with about 100 lbs of beet pulp and 50 pounds of sweet feed.)
And to top it all off, greenhawk is having a warehouse sale........why me?

Oh, don't get me started! I think I have around 16 saddles right now (for 1 horse)! With the bumming, low economy, people are selling such nice tack on eBay for CHEAP! I just MUST buy it all!! =) I won't even get into my bridles and other tack collections. I even have a Circle Y Western Show Saddle/Bridle/Breastcollar that I've never used (I only ride English!) Maybe that falls into the "pretty things that don't count" category.

Strange fact: I only have ONE lead rope. I bought it used like 3 years ago and I've just never thought to replace (or upgrade) it.
