I have a Mattes Cotton Correction pad on trial right now. We tried a bunch of stuff yesterday, and the sheepskin correction pads weren't working very well.
I talked to my saddle fitter about the Skito pads, she recommended against them because there is so much bulk, and the reason I bought a close contact dressage saddle is to get rid of the bulk.
We're still going to look into the Thinline pads I think. Schleese, Thinline and SaddleFitForLife have just developed a new pad with 3 shimming pockets instead of just the 2 that Mattes has that I'd like to try. I also don't like how much extra fabric is on the Mattes. I looks like skirting, and makes the saddle look larger and him smaller. The last thing I need is for him to look smaller!
And we also discussed with the saddler what we could do with that saddle and basically came to the conclusion that we would be adding flocking just to take it away or move it later. My saddle fitter took measurements yesterday that we compared to his from about 6 months ago and there is already quite a lot of muscling in the shoulder.
So far, I think the Mattes correction is doing it's job but I think we can find something better.
