Difference between an eggbutt gag and full cheek gag?

I came across a full cheek gag bit in some old horse stuff that was given to me. I am use to using eggbutt gags, but what is the difference between the two? Is it the same as a regular snaffle in the two? Or does it change because of the gag placing pressure on the poll?

Do you mean the difference between this:

And this?

The fullcheek will simply have more turning power than the eggbutt, and also leaves no chance of the bit pulling through the mouth (though you really have to be abusing the bit for that to occur.)
Both exert poll pressure when the reins are engaged simultaneously.
