do i need leg support??

My horse was recently diagnosed with a suspensory injury. My vet said while he is recovering and healing he does want any wraps or support boots put on him because he wants the ligament to get strong again and and be able to stretch a little bit and increase more and more till he has recovered. Other wise once it has healed it will just tear again because it has no stretch, strenght, or give to it.

After he recovers I want to get some kind of boot to give support to his suspensory ligament so that this doesnt happen as easily again. I want opinions on whether or not I should do this and also what kind of boots I should get that will give the most support to his suspensory ligament.

I am looking at the: Ventech Sport Elite Boots by Professional's Choice (value pack)

Dover Saddlery | VenTech™ Elite SMB Value Pack .

I would just use open front tendon boots like these:

My horse also had a suspensory issue and I use these now (:

Ok thanks. If you have any other advice I would apriciate it. We just found out that he has a suspensory injury 2 weeks ago. I have another thread under horse health: "suspensory injury" that gives more details about his injury and more questions if you get a chance.

Dover Saddlery | Professionals Choice SMB Elite Hind Horse Boots .

This is what I use for Arielle- she had a ruptured suspensory ligament, sliced achilles tendon and broken sesamoid bone.
