Do you use different tack for showing? Like you have a practice bridle and saddle but have a showing saddle and bridle? With any of your tack do you do that? I have like a nylon halter for around the barn but when I go to shows I have a really nice leather halter,blanket, and shipping boots. What tack items do you have 2 for? One for showing and one for practice or around the barn??
I have a training saddle that I ride in with an old bridle and then I have my english saddle for show, with it's show bridle and I have show tack for western also.
I do have a set of schooling tack and a set of show tack; however, it’s really not necessary to have both, as it can be somewhat costly. Just keep in mind, that whatever you use for showing should be: - In good condition - Look appropriate - Fit properly - Look tidy - And is clean Some of my double items include sheets, coolers, halter and lead-shank (leather for at the shows), saddle pads, girth, bridle, saddle, boots, crop, etc.
The only thing different in equipment for my horse at shows are her leather halter complete with "Nancy Drew" nameplate and her show browband (made by MIEventer). I don't feel comfortable using tack that I don't use on a regular basis
