does anybody know these brands?

Finally broke down and had the saddle fitter out to look at rocket. She suggested either a HDR Advantage cc or a Meyerstone AP saddle that worked good for me, and worked well for Rocket. The HDR was a little more comfy than the Meyerstone (she also brought out a stubben and omg was it so comfy I didn't want to get out of it, but it didnt sit right on rocket), but they Meyerstone is used and about 300 dollars cheaper. I know HDR is a fairly mainstream brand, anybody have any good or bad to say about them? I have never heard of Meyerstone and the interwebs didn't offer up much information.

Not to t/j, but where did you actually find a saddle fitter and what did it cost to have her come out?

Never heard of Meyerstone. HDR is a pretty nice brand, though.

The saddle fitter will come out free under the understanding that you will buy a saddle from her within a certain time frame, she actually made me sign something saying that, otherwise she charges about 30 dollar for an hour of her time plus a dollar a mile which for me would have ended up being a grand total 57 dollars, which wasn't I guess isn't too bad, apparently the girl that had a saddlefitter come out to look at her horse was charged twice that.

She owns her own tack store and custom makes saddles as well, my trainer had her custom make her mare a saddle which is how I knew of her exsistance. I have no problem buying a saddle from her either, she has a pretty nice selection of saddles, though all of her new saddles are pretty pricey, the HDR was the cheapest new saddle she carried.

Both brands are made in Argentina. It looks like the Meyerstone may be better than the HDR Advantage line. They really aren't that great IMO. I like the Pro line of HDRs better.

I have never heard of Meyerstone but I have heard good things about the higher line of HDR. On the flip side I have heard not so good things about HDR's bottom end line.

Yeah I've been reading a couple of reviews, and some people rave about their HDR and some people say they are total pieces of junk. I'm not sure what to think.

I dislike HDR's personally - but this is about what works best for your horse and you.

I am curious to know the name of the saddle maker/fitter you had come out.

Lynda from classic saddlery, use to do the classic saddlery brand of saddles, I think they changed the name to something else now though.

Nope, that is who she is. She owns and runs Classic Saddelry just down the road from me. She bought out Rembrant and now calls that line the "Classic" line.

I know her well.

Man, you are closer than I thought.

Let me guess - she told you to go wide with a wither relief pad?
