I ordered a new Tucker x wide draft tree super short skirt for my 16.2 arab cross and 15.3 wide load paint. This is my (narrower) Arab cross. It came with crooked bars!! So I sent it back, and am waiting for confirmation they are sending me out a new one.
I took these pictures before I sent it back, do you think it is a good fit? Sorry about the thin pad underneath, I was trying it on for fit and did not want to get so much as hair on it, then saw the curled raised bar on the right back side (final pic) and sent it back asap:
And here is the back view with crooked bar, but please look at gullet width - do you think it fits perfectly? Is it too wide in the channel or is it just right? The bars underneath running my hand thru on the 'good side' of saddle had nice even contact. Left bar does sit nice and flat:
My horse is standing perfeclty straight and saddle is on straight, so the right side is NOT my horse, not to mention it did the same exact thing on my saddle rack and on my super wide paint. I sent I back and it arrived Friday at Tucker warehouse in TX, am awaiting a call back from them ....
In the meantime feedback welcome! It is a 16.5 seat, 24 inch long skirt Xwide and I used the 7/8 rigging.
If that is the quality they are selling I'd be asking for a refund. I'm wondering what the tree is made of for it to do that. Circle Y has a nice trail saddle and I think they have some good sales on right now.
I sent them the picture and they sent me a return label, I let them know I do not want the saddle back, I want a new one that is correct or my money back and all they said was they had to look at it first. Fair enough. I have not heard anything back yet, tho I left several messages on Friday after I got the noon delivery receivd confirmation.
I was actually horrified when I put it on my horse only to see there was a 'point' sticking up under the leather in the right front, which I assumed was part of the underneath dee attachment resulting from the whole right side of saddle looking 'off' followed by what appears to be a bent tree with a fist shaped hard lump under the curled up area in back. I'm hoping they, too, are horrified they sent this out and that they apologize (I waited 5 weeks for it to ship!) and that they confirm my correctly made saddle will be on it's way shortly.
I was expecting much better workmanship! It is Circle Y/Tucker these days, and I am oping for a call Monday that will result in a new saddle on it's way. I will keep you posted, hopefully with news of good customer service and quick resolution.
I spoke with Tucker yesterday and they said they will send me out a brand new saddle.
Since my geldings need an extra wide, they will have to make it (none in stock) so it will be another 4 week wait, but given the postive reviews their saddles usually get, this next one should be a keeper!
I was happy that they addressed my concerns ASAP and put in the order for my completely different/newly made saddle.
All the people I personally know who own Tuckers really like them.
