I don't think that it would. I have been sprayed by those things and while it is slightly acidic, that is mostly to cause predators to be reluctant to try to eat them. I am willing to bet that your mom had a sensitivity or an allergy to the chemicals and that is likely what caused such a severe reaction. If some of the stinky does get on your saddle, I bet a moist rag would take it right off.
