Question driving shoes?

There is a hackney at my farm who is about 6/7 and she's only just started having a proper farrier looking at her feet, the farrier put driving shoes on her back feet only and normal shoes on her front feet.
He put driving shoes on her back feet because she has problems with the way her legs motivate.
The driving shoes on the back only have one metal stud thing coming up to stop if from slipping back, but i'm confused, I thought back shoes of horses have to have two metal stud things coming up?
Helllppp?
Thanks
X
