I've been lunging both of my horses for short periods - I run out of gas long before they do! Between that, carrying around feed buckets, cleaning out the overgrown pasture and building a hen house I've gotten more exercise in the last three months than in the last 6 years!

You don't want it to be really fast loss. Because then it'll come back on. You really wanna do it gradually (even it takes time). I'm sure you will! :)

Kitten - It took me three months to lose what I did - and I did it without dieting, so it was pretty much all through exercise. I don't know if that's too fast or not, but I'm not going to complain. I won't mind if the weight loss slows down in the winter - as long as it continues! :)

Lauren - I would if I could afford it. I just need a decent saddle I can use until I've lost enough weight to fit in a "normal" saddle.

20 pounds! You go girl! :)

Try this site when you get the chance. Saddles , Western , Horse and pony saddle - SaddleOnline Inc. They've got some really nice saddles with larger seats (I need a larger seat, too!) for nice prices!

Congrats on the weight drop!! 20 lbs is nothing to sneeze at even if it is only a part of your goal. Even the longest journeys start with a single step. ;)

I hope you find something that will be comfortable for you.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

My goal is to lose 150 lbs, but I'll be happy if I can lose half that. It would sure make shopping for saddles (and boots, too!) easier and cheaper!

Wow! That's really cool! I always only can loose any on strict diet... Just keep it going!

All of them saddles are very cheaply made, and are very ill fitting for horse and rider. I do not recommend that site at all!
