english hackamore question

Ok I want to try an english hackamore and can't decide what one would be more accepted in the ring. I am using a rope hack right now. Here are some links to a few I have found on ebay.

Can you show in a hackamore? Is it legal?

Frankly I don't like the 1st one. And why is that "english hackamore"? It looks like standard short shanks flat nose hackamore (most people are using for just trail riding around). 2nd and 3rd ones are not bad IMO.

Farmpony it is a lowed in lower lvl jumping and in some of the schooling shows here.

Kitten I was thinking that the 2nd and 3rd are like what I use now so I am thinking that would work better for me.

Thaks for your reply

I have seen people use the first one during xc & stadium at usea sactioned events. I personally use a 'western' one [it just has the longer shanks] bc it was a lot cheaper than any of the 'english' ones

If your horse goes well in the idian bosal, then I would stick with something like the 3rd one. Leather English jumping hackamore bitless attachment - eBay (item 280411714285 end time Oct-25-09 05:41:40 PDT)

You can find them new here:
Browsing Store - Kincade Hackamore

The rings look like they're in the wrong spot, but you just feed the straps through them, so it ends up like this:

The stitching is less likely to be stressed and pulled with the rings attached this way.

You could go sans-caveson with this kind of hackamore, so you don't have the double noseband look.

I actually used the one similar to what luvs posted. When I was starting my horses. It worked for me nicely.
