English/ Western saddle sizes?

A 19" seat is HUMONGOUS. I had an older, German made Stubben with that seat size, and it was obviously custom made for a very large man.

I'd think an 18" would fit you just fine OP, and I really don't think your Western saddle is a 20". Probably more along the lines of a 16", as Corporal stated.

Most adults ride English saddles that have seat sizes anywhere from 17" to 18". As I stated, a 19" seat is huge and I don't think I've ever seen a 20" English saddle unless it had a 2.5" cutback, which made the seat size 17.5"

A lot of people make an 18" Seat in a Western Saddle.
Even Circle Y started making them last year.

But I think a 17" Western would be a better fit for 6'1 200lbs

As far as English, you may be able to get by with an 18" seat as they are not confining like a Western, but 19" is the normal conversion, as someone mentioned you need to worry about flap length because of your long legs.

LOL This thread is cracking me up... If I was 6'1" and weighed 200 I could ride a 15 or 16 I bet. Western... I currently ride a 16" .. AND I am shorter and heavier.. I'm also a female but that shouldn't matter..

You measure a western saddle from the inside of the swell(below horn) to just inside the Cantle(back of seat). English measure differently. Screwhead?) in front of the pommel either side to the center of the back(cantle)... Yes??
