What's the difference between an "eventing/cross country" saddle and a "hunter/jumper" saddle? I always thought they were the same, until I started noticing they were classified into different sections...
Since eventers do both jumping and dressage, many will get an "all purpose" saddle, which is a combination of the two (unfortunately -IMHO- don't do either well). So if someone calls something an "eventing" saddle I would assume they're talking about an AP. H/Jers use close contact saddles.
I hate all purpose saddles! I didn't realize that's what they were generally calling "eventing" saddles. Thanks for the heads up! I definitely won't make the mistake of buying one now!
