That's sweet!!!! Is it cedar? I'm on my phone so I'm lookin at a 1 1/2" screen lol. If it is cedar and not sealed, though it looks to be, I'd give a $100 all day long. If its not cedar or is sealed or stained I'd think 50 or so. I do believe I have a new project. Posted via Mobile Device
I'd still look for something that better supports the heavy skirts of the western saddle. I had an extra tall one custom built for saddle work following some diagrams on the internet. Those flanges may catch on to something as the saddle is being lifted off, especially with a shorter person. I don't know how easy it would be to even slide the saddle forward. The design in common use has been around for over a hundred years and has proved itself.
It looks very nice especially with the colorful cedar and the glossy finish, but I do have to agree with @saddlebag - the design does not convince me as being very practical. The side supports are hanging a bit in the air and are prone to get caught in something and break off. I would never buy his design. A stand with a common design done with the same workman's craft would be at least $150 to $200 worth, my guess. Again - very well done stand, great wood building skills!
