Fashion in the horse world!

Hiya Horse Lovers

I am doing a quick survey on horse fashions... I would be very greateful if you could give me your views and opinions on the following questions:

1. As a rider, where do you shop for your clothes? High street or equestrian shops? And why?

2. What do you think could be improved on the teenager riding garments?

3. What would you LOVE to see in equestrain shops fashion wise??

Thanks a lot Guys!

What do you mean by "cloth"? I do shop for riding cloth in Eq shops (usually Dover) of course. I doubt I can buy tall boots and breeches in Macy's on closest Mall. As for every day cloth I go to the normal store - like Kohl's for example.

I shop ebay and at the shows. I have a small income so I buy second hand. Which means I am always a year behind on fashion.

live for the moment.

I've always spent good money on the classic items - for example, my show hats/helmets, chaps, show coat, tall boots were all carefully selected after trying on many items in horse stuff stores (but sometimes just to see the look, then bargain shopped online for the best price)

Daily riding and barn clothes come from regular retail stores.

Minor show items are picked up either used or whenever I see something I like for a good price.

But mud and bits of hay are soooooo IN this year!

I buy my riding clothes on clearance. The teeny sizes don't seem to sell very well, so when our local tack shop has a blow-out tent sale, I find really cheap deals on Kerrits breeches and shirts. Comfy, good price and if mud, bits of hay and horse snot is "fashionable" then I'm good!

Second hand stores an clearance bins. After working for a outdoor clothing company I saw how much things are marked up, I now will not pay full price. I WILL wait for it to come on sale.

Don't know, no longer a teenager. I would love a decent pair of full seat breeches that I don't have to sell a kidney for....kinda like what you can get in Australia. I'm currently in Nth America

Since I keep my horses at home I usually just put old pants/boots/jacket on to deal with poop clean, hay, etc. For every day riding I always go for comfort - my pants are usually cheap and shirts are old, the only exception I go with good boots and helmet (unfortunately good boots are not cheap).

I agree about clearance/consignment though. Most of my show cloth came from such stores (all new, but part of the price). It's really pricey to get the full outfit for the show for the full price.

Just use the female one. I used to ride in male jeans when I rode western.
