Females and big trucks

I drive a big truck. I love my truck! It's a Ford F250 SuperDuty and it has a leveling kit so its really tall. I get comments/looks from people ALL THE TIME. Literally on a daily basis. I'm not a big girl. I'm 5'4" if I stand up straight and stretch a bit. Big pickups are very common around me, as are pickups of all sizes, so it's not that. I admit that my truck is particularly pretty (I think she's beautiful).

What is the humor and shock behind me driving my truck? What's the humor behind me driving it well? I park straight and tend to back up into parking spots (I heard it saves a smidgen of gas to pull forward out of a space). Just the other day a security guard at a checkpoint told me that I was "driving and h eck out of that truck. You go girl". It made me laugh that he said that - that was a new way of hearing it!

I really don't get what's so fascinating. I ask my husband and he just says "it's funny" which doesn't help!

Any other ladies out there in a big truck? Do you get the same?

I've seen it around here..I'm just ecstatic to come back to my 10yr reunion in a nice, fancy 4500 or F650 (hauling truck, but I'll have to waste the gas to show it off, haha). Out of my school, not one female (aside from myself, who was called a guy) could drive anything bigger than a small car. That was more of a rant though.. >.> lol

Anywho, as for your question. I believe it's because trucks are a "guy thing". It's not, but their big redneck/hick/country egos allow them to think so, lmao. I got all kind of looks when I was driving around a big, White cargo van..a young female versus the average creepy, old guy in the White van with no side windows..lmao. But, a big truck is supposedly a symbol for a "big man" (*ahem* which tends to never be the case as I've heard..lol).

Oh trust me, the guys stare at me too when they see me driving my powerstroke. I've gotten lots of comments. I think it tends to shock them cause trucks are more of a 'guys' thing.

I drive a truck. Not quite as big as ya'lls, but at only 5’1” it’s big for me.
Ram Sport 4x4 Hemi. Shiny silver beauty too with leather seats with all the bells and whistles. Plus a few extra sparkly “this is a girl’s truck” extras.

I don’t get the looks so much as the face when I explain to people why I chose that particular truck with the 3:92 gear ratio and the sport suspension. And why I had the “fancy” 20’s replaced with stock wheels and tires.
They are usually speechless that I know not only what all that does for better tow-ability but also how much more I can tow.
When I was shopping, I drove the brand new/remade Rams with the more powerful Hemi. I had a really cool salesman who took me out onto some back (back) roads and let me “put her through her paces” too. Now, I can drive and let’s just say I made the salesman a very white knuckled nervous mess, but he said I could… so I did!

I really liked the power in that new engine and the get up and go!
Made me a very happy girl. However, I was not so happy at the price though… so had to kiss the brand spanking new beauty goodbye and settle for a truck that was a few years old instead.
Still, love my girl.

Now, my John Deere on the other hand.....
Lots of stares.

I don't think theres anything strange about a girl in a truck. We just bought our first truck in August and we love it! It's a Big Bad Black Chevy Silverado with lots of bells and whistles. I get lots of looks when I drive it around but I think most men stare as they have a mutual love of trucks as I do. It's funny how I never bought a truck before as the first vehicle I learned to drive was a half ton Chevy at age 12. Adda go girls!

I drive a big, white Ford truck. I love my Velma.

My family members (who are all suburbanites) always grin when they see me drive up, because my truck is big and I'm barely 5'1". My people call me the Munchkin with the Truck.

Heck, I need a big truck. How else am I going to haul hay/grain, and that big ole horse trailer without one? Besides, I live in a very rural area. Not owning a truck would be strange!

Once you go truck, you never go back!

You want the truth? You can't HANDLE the truth!

Most guys I know don't think it's "funny" when a girl drives a big truck, they think it's "sexy"...

So I must be VERY sexy in my powder blue Chevy S10 XD
