Finally, the long awaited stubben saddle fit critique

I've been promising these pics of quite some time but until today I haven't had time to take any(well except for the day it was way to cold to take pics lol) It clearly sits down on her withers, not sure if it's because it's too wide or her withers are just too high. I took pics with the roma whither relief pad as well.

I'm hoping once she gains some more muscles around her withers it will fit better, but other then the wither clearance it seems to fit her pretty well...I think

Did you check to see if there was a lot of "rocker" to it.? It looks like the panels come up off the back a bit in back. Some is good, too much is not. It reduces the amount of area the the tree is actaully contacting the horse, and increases pounds per square inch that way.

Otherwise, to me, it looks pretty decent.

I think it may just appear to come off her back a bit because of the flash(it was starting to get dark) in person it's shaped to her back pretty well. Do you think the withers pad helps the fit? Without it the saddle really sits down on her withers with a rider, even with the pad I'd like a bit more wither clearance but it's not bad, I'm just paranoid about bad saddle fit, after year and years of riding my old gelding in the same saddle I noticed white marks on his withers now that he's retired. I probably saw them when I was younger riding but just thought it was his markings.

Not bad! Only thing is, if you sat in it without the wither pad, it would sink down and could be down on top of her withers. It looks good with the pad. Nice saddle!

Yes, I learned that the hard way, I was riding her(first time I rode her in it) and a remembered I forgot to check her wither clearance when I got on since it was close on the ground. I was only riding for a few minutes before I checked but I still felt bad.
The saddle was my fantastic craigslist find, only paid $200 for it, I'm not sure how old it is, but stubben said it retailed for over 2000 new, I have to e-mail them again with the serial number to get more details on it
