Hi :) I would just go by the size bridle and halter you use, if full size then get a full size fly veil :)
Not sure what colour would look the best but I've read not to use a blue fly veil as horses can't see properly out of them because of the colour.
I put mine on fist over their ears then Velcro it up under the cheek but not too tight so they can still eat and yawn comfortably

Thanks but I don't think we were talking about the same thing... What I call a fly veil is a fly mask but only with the ears and you can ride with it on. I'm on my phone so I can upload a picture but you can search up fly veil or fly bonnet to see what I mean :). Thanks anyways though!!

Most I have are one size fits all, but if you have a size option and your horse is in-between sizes then go smaller! My horse has big ears, but most of the time when I put a fly bonnet on a horse it's too big.

For a chestnut, I would do black, navy, brown or royal blue.

My 14.3 boy is in a med size one, my 16hh tb is in a full size one. The med size one is way too small for my tb.

I put them on before I put the bridle on and for a chestnut I would go Black, White, any shade of Blue or Green.
