Get a new saddle or keep mine?

The saddle I have now is an HDR Advantage CC. It's a good saddle, it's done well for me for the past two years. The only complaint I have is that the flaps are slightly forward for me, I have short upper legs :P
My horse lost quite a bit of weight and muscle mass during the winter from a few months of stall rest and just having the whole winter off. So, as of now, her saddle does not fit her. It was never a perfect fit, but it REALLY doesn't fit her now.

So now I'm trying to decide if I want to sell my current saddle and get one that fits both her and me. The only problem is that I am limited by what I can get from my current saddle. I wish I could afford a super nice saddle, but I really can't. I am not 100% how much my saddle could sell for, but I'm thinking I could get between 300-450. What kind of saddle could I get for that? It definitely does NOT have to be new!

I'm open to both leather and synthetic. I will be showing Dasha eventually, but not in huge shows (I won't be able to afford it!). So yeah, suggestions are appreciated!

Ahah, I think I have the same saddle as yours

I have been told that the HDR are of poor quality leather ( argentina) compare to French leather or German leather, eventhough HDR is french, some of their lines where made with argentinia leather, and lots of people told me it was not the best saddle ever.
I am not sure who to trust there, and I did consider re-selling mine to get another saddle, but my HDR is about 6 years old and still great quality, although it does leave mark on my saddle pads. Not a big deal to me.

Now for your situation, if it is a fitting problem that you had in the past, you might want to sell it and get a better fit for you and your horse.
Do you have any pictures so we can see?

Check out ebay for deals as well as ideas on what to price yours at and also check for local tack shops that have consignment and/or exchange programs. Good luck!
