Oh no, wasnt meaning for you (the board) to do my homework....... I didnt think about checking Ebay! Duh! What a good idea. I totally knew what they cost new, but I have no clue what saddles are worth today as opposed to when you buy it new (resale values, etc)... So was hoping to get some insight here. Thats all! :) Sorry to sound confusing.....

Thanks for your help Frank, the one that sold does look similar to the one I'm looking at!!

Tucker saddles, as a brand, hold their value. I've never seen one sell lower then the $700 one that you are looking at. However, condition, as it is with everything, is the key. 2 seasons of trail riding can beat up a saddle if it isn't taken care of and it's been given very heavy use. I've seen some very well made saddles look like hell after 1 season yet I just sold one of my saddles for what I paid for it ($1,200) after 13 years of a LOT of trail riding - but I'm fanatical about tack care.

If you like the style, and the saddle is in great condition, it is worth the asking price. Just be sure it fits your horse well. BTW, the seats on the Tucker run small so that if you fit in a 15", you need a 16" or even a 16 1/2".

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.

Oh good point on the seat size! That may be an issue right there!! This is a 17" and I like a 17. Dangit. Well, we'll see............

Well! I went and sat in the saddle and I was surprised by how comfortable it was. Unable to take my horse so I took a lot of measurements and will go measure my horse I guess....... Then make a decision.

My only issue is...................... the saddle cosmetically (only) is scratched up, and showing marks where the leg rubbed against the fenders. I can't make up my mind if that is a big deal or not. Structurally it was sound, and in good condition. Would that be an issue for you, for $650?

I'd pounce on that deal so fast if I were you (and the saddle fit me and the horse). The Tuckers are known to be great trail saddles... and little cosmetic things don't bother me that much.

At least you won't feel so horrid if you scratch it somewhere and beat yourself up about it because it was such a pristinely wonderful saddle beforehand. ^_^

I am excited about it, I told him I wanted it and would pick it up on Tuesday, and I'll take one more good look at it and probably bring it home. I am SO Excited, Ive never owned a "Good" Riding Saddle. I have a nice show saddle (circle y), that I had when I used to show Arabians, but I have outgrown it long ago.

I worry it's a fake though...... do they make fake saddles with the logo of Tucker Saddles? Like they do purses?

I would guess not... but I'm all paranoid. lol
