Okay, so I was at a garage sale today and found a Billy Cook Pleasure Reining Saddle for sale for $450. The bronze under the silver plating was showing through a little on the one side, and the fenders had a few scratches, but it looked in good shape. The kid bought it a few years ago from our local saddlery and was getting out of showing. Input?
Hmmm...I think it is a 'retail' price. If it was very nice and worth it, I might have offered $300. People are leery of the Billy Cooks now because the new ones aren't the same quality as the old ones.
I did not know that, thanks! I think I'll offer $200 and see is he takes it, as most people garage saleing around here aren't going to be in the market for a saddle.
I'ld have to see it first, but I'ld probably buy it for that.
