Talking Got a new saddle today!

i brought my horse, William, 3 weeks ago and i also bought the saddle that he had had 'fitted' too. i think he has put on so much weight that it doesnt fit him anymore :(, its a nice saddle and i think that he will lose enough weight for it to fit him. today i bought him a wide fit saddle, second hand but as good as new. only 100!

this is a synthetic bought for 200 (notice how it cant hold its self up)

the new leather one bought for half the price :o, looks like it will fit him better.

there's a big difference in width!
they are both gp saddles but which do you prefer?

They are both nice. I like the 2nd one better though because it has the nice padded knee rolls, and I like that personally.

My opinion is though, have them both fitted professionally to find out what saddle would be best for both you and your horse.

No "I think this will fit" or "This one looks like it will fit better" - be sure 100%.

yes i was going to do that anyway but the synthetic really will not fit him untill he loses weight, fitting it probably wont help. when he loses weight i will unless i like the leather one better and already i think it is more comfortable. i will get the leather on fitted to him, see how well it fits him as it is, im also going to get a sheepskin for extra padding in the meantime and that will help with the fact he hasnt been excersied properly in nearly 5 months.

the knees rolls on the leather are better! the ones an the synthetic are under the saddle flap and can be romoved so it can be more suitable for dressage or jumping, i think it is a cool idea but im worried the velcro will ware out and they will just keep falling off :s and they are hard to get level and you end of riding with wonky knees :P
