    If you get a pad with spaces for the billets/girth to go through and some velcro strips to hold the pad to the saddle it should help the pad stay with the saddle.

    The only thing a half pad does is exactly as it's name would suggest, it pads under the top half of the saddle. If you take a well fitted saddle and put a half pad under it all you are accomplishing is pushing the rider off of the horse's back and possibly making the saddle fit too narrowly.
    For a slightly ill fitting saddle, then you want a correction pad and for something that fits very well you just want a regular pad.

    If the pad slips, then she may be putting the saddle on too far forward.

    Any pad with girth and/or billet loops will help keep it in place.
