halters - for use on trail

A few years ago I bought a "magic" halter at a horse expo, that is basically one piece of rope with a small metal ring on one end, that supposedly turned into a halter very quickly. I can't for the life of me remember how to do it. Does anyone know about this or how I use it? thanks.

Like a "Quick Catch Halter"?

About mid-way down on this page I'm linking to, there are pretty good instructions [better than I could ever explain! haha] for how to make it work. :)

Howdy and welcome to the forum!

That type of halter, there are several different ways to make a halter out of it, but basically, you're making a "war bridle".

Here is a pretty crappy link to a picture of how it's put together. I'll try to remember tomorrow to go to the barn and get some better pictures of how to put it all together as I'm horrible at explaining things through text.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
