I wish to describe a piece that I believe to be a "harness saddle" for our Agricultural Museum visitors. It is of leather, has 2 holes to accept the knobs/horns of the collar... has the owner's name in raised letters on one side. Looks to me like a riding saddle with no stirrups and no horn! Can someone give me an idea of the use/reason for it and I believe it is very old. Any help for this willing-to-learn museum volunteer will be appreciated by many!
