Has anyone used coconut oil on their horses mane and tail?

A friend was telling me that they use coconut oil on their horses mane and tail. I haven't heard of it before. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of it or does it?

She says it really helps put the moisture back in her horses mane and tail.
