Has anyone used Tough 1 blankets?

Thoughts?

I just ordered this one JT International

For my daughter's lease horse, mostly to wear the night before shows and 4-H. He is in a covered shelter, with a 12x12 run on rainy days, and in their field when it's decent out. He may use it some, mostly to keep him dryer and less dirty, but not all the time. His owner told me to get a waterproof turnout blanket.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with these. I can always send it back if they're total pieces of crap. I got a royal blue one for $45 new.

When I worked at a boarding barn we used Tough Ones on all the 1-3 year olds because they were cheap to replace when they were damamged during "blanket tag". They held up surprisingly well to the youngsters' shenanigans :)

Great, thanks! So they live up to their name. Like I said it is mostly to keep him clean before we haul him so he won't need to worry about playing in it much. If we have the winter they keep saying, he'll probably wear it a little more.

He's kind of short bodied and his owner didn't have a single blanket that fit him. All of them were way too long, or fit the ponies, so I had to get him one myself. It's going to be a Christmas present for my daughter and she has NO idea that we're planning this. It matches her tack for him too. I'm excited.

So I did some more research and am going to be sending the Tough 1 back. Reviews weren't very good. I decided to order a Saxon 600D medium weight sheet. Reviews on that are much better, and I actually got to get my hands on it at the local tack store. They had to order the correct size for him though. Today when I was out at the farm, I peeked at the horses wearing sheets, and most of them are Saxon or Weatherbeeta. I think this will be a better choice. Of course I'll probably get the the Tough 1 in the mail and find out it's pretty nice, but oh well...

Don't always count on reviews. Everyone has their own preference. I've been pretty happy with the quality of items I get from JTI. That includes my saddle too.
