Have you ever seen a barrel saddle like this?

So I bought this saddle for $250. It's supposed to be a Teskeys barrel saddle but to be honest I have never seen a barrel saddle that looked like this. Isn't the shape of the swell fork usually wider or shaped differently? Any thoughts?

Don't mind the clutter and all the dust. It's Arizona, dust free usually isn't an option lol.

That's no Teskey. Is there a maker's mark anywhere on it?

A Teskey will be stamped.

And no way will you get one that cheap.

Sorry.

There's a number on it but no stamp. I thought that was a little unusual, but I didn't buy it because I thought it was a fantastic saddle, just wanted something light weight to train Whisper in. Is it even a barrel saddle though? Can the number on it tell me anything?

Yeah, it's a barrel saddle of some type, and if it's got a good tree, it's worth the price.

^^Agreed, it is a barrel saddle and a good tree is worth the price.

I think the difference you are seeing is that lots of barrel saddles have bigger swells on them like this one.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I thought it was kind of important to be shaped like that so I wasn't sure. At least they didn't lie to me about everything. Where they got Teskeys from, I don't know.

Today while I was with my horses I took another hard look at my saddle, and guess what I found? Under a nice thick layer of dust and almost completely rubbed off was in fact a stamp. I can only make out a T, there are words all the way around it but they are too faded. Could anyone possibly tell me what brand this T belongs to. I found a Circle T saddle that sorta resembled mine.

Sorry the pictures are so blurry, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get them any clearer. You can still see the T I'm talking about though.
It helps if you sit back from your computer lol.

Do you have a Macro setting on your camera? It usually has a little flower icon. That would make a world of difference.
