I've always used a Troxel and have been comfortable and cool. I'd recommend going to a tack shop and trying on different brands. They all fit a little different. Some are more round while others are more oval. A well-fitted helmet will be the most comfortable and safe.
Also, look for one with a removable, washable liner. My 10 year-old Troxel is getting pretty grimy because I can't remove/wash the liner. (I know, it's way beyond time for a new helmet.) Most modern helmets have this feature though.
And if you go back to that bike helmet idea for any reason, I'm going to come over there and kick your butt!!
