The helmet I have (the purple one that you like) is an onyx. It cost me $59.95 and is designed for ventilation etc its lightweight and while your head still gets sweaty (this can't be avoided with any helmet) its
Keeps it relatively cool

Keep having a look around. I don't know if you have the onyx brand in the states but im sure there will be something suitable for you

Thanks for all the input in on the helmet. You all really helped me out. I shopped till I dropped today (couldn't wait till monday) I had your words in the back of my mind as I forced myself passed the sporting goods/cycle shops. The only brand I could find was the Troxel but I got an idea what I wanted and tried on a few. I decided on the Troxel Dakota and just put my order in online. No one had my size at the local shops. It has the removable washable headliner a solid viser (no velcro) and a pony tail notch which I thought was pretty cool. Can't wait till it gets here

Ooooo a pony tail notch!!! That's very cool. Wish there were some helmets like that here. I have rather long hair and it can be a pain trying to get it all sorted around the helmet
