Help fitting a saddle!

Well, about a month ago I realized that I don't like the way my western saddle fit my horse. Since then, I've tried an Abetta Arabian tree (no pictures, but I didn't like it--pinched in the nail area behind the shoulder), a Circle Y (High Horse) Wide and a Big Horn Medium tree. See pictures below. The Wide Circle Y was waaay too wide, and you can see how the saddle tilts forward in the pictures. The Big Horn (which I really loved and wanted to fit... ) looked promising, but it was too tight on the wither/shoulder (where the nail is) and oddly didn't have much wither clearance.

I know that there tends to be tree variation between manufacturers, but I don't know any more than that! Does anyone have recommendations? I am open to new and used, but my budget is <$1000 for a versatile trail & show saddle 15-16". Sadly I haven't found any fitters nearby, so I am helplessly on my own.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

FYI, saddles were uncinched in pictures. Jax's last owner says that FQHB saddles always fit him, but wouldn't that equate to a wide tree...?

Here's a picture of his back for reference!

I think FQHB is not just wide, but it has to do with the angle of the bars. Arabs can be kind of "mutton withered" and need deceptively wide trees.
Have you tried a Crates FQHB? if it worked, I think you'd love it, they make a very nice trail saddle.

Huh, that would explain it! I'll poke around for a used Crates saddle to try out. Thanks! :)
