I can only go my what I would like to see but when you get to classes where the colour scheme is part of what is accessed...for Palomino I would (if I had a palomino) go with black with either silver or gold accents. Sometimes what stands out is not a loud colour but one that shows sophistication.

If you're going to be showing in halter, etc., you'll want to use leather tack with silver, no colored nylon. Same with all those events, really. And a 1500 lb horse is not exactly suitable for English Pleasure. Do you have a trainer helping you look for a horse?

I agree with Spyder on black & gold. That would look lovely on goldish-colored horse.

My palomino has blue saddle pads, but I've also loved maroon on him. I agree black and gold would look sophisticated and nice at shows.

I was looking at what the horse would look good in.

As far as you are concerned I would NOT go with black and gold but I would have those colours as accents to maybe a royal blue or dark maroon base colour so you can blend and both match and separate yourself with the horse.

This is what horsemanship is all about.

Maybe you should look at what is worn but the WINNERS of such classes to get a better idea.

I have this grooming kit in purple: Roma Ultimate Grooming Kit and Complete Grooming Kits | EQUESTRIAN COLLECTIONS.COM

It comes with quite a few things on your list.

A few thoughts - (1) OP needs to wait to get the horse before buying sized gear, otherwise you'll likely wind up with a lot of gear that won't fit and will have to be returned or replaced.

(2) a 16hh 1500 lb horse is going to be oddly sized, especially for a QH (which most registered palominos are) my 16.1 hh PHBA/AQHA gelding is about 1,200 lbs and wears large sizes - I can only imagine what Ro+ another 300 lbs would look like.

Also - you don't use colored gear in a showmanship or halter class if your showing with PHBA (palomino horse breeders association) you use a leather halter with silver on it.

Purple accents (pads, etc) will be fine in riding classes. Typically you won't be showing breed association hunters or wp with polos or boots on your horse.

Good luck finding gear and the right horse - but wait until you shop to find your horse!
