I got three english saddles in on a trade. And usually I am quite good at pricing - but apparently not for these ******s.

So any help you can give me would be great.

1. Whitman 17" Close contact (narrow) has loose stitching around holding the flocking to the underside of the saddle (only about a 2cm area)

2. No brand, 18" AP Saddle (regular) - Practically brand new, no wear on saddle or billets.

3. No brand, 18" AP saddle (regular) - Lightly used, some wear on billets, and min scuffing on the saddle.

Thank you.

Whitman is a old brand, English made and crafted saddle.
This is a very old style with the flap shaped as it is and "plain" in look not the "puffy" suede knee roll even on a cc saddle....My guess would be $300 tops with the things you mentioned it needs.
The other two saddles both look like well...
Let us say the second saddle just looks cheap to me in quality. A good starter saddle, maybe. Ask $200 and negotiate.
The other saddle (3rd one) actually looks like a nicer saddle quality in leather. Again, very old style of flap cut. Almost looks like a modified dressage saddle with deeper seat, higher pommel and cantle, suede knee and thigh blocking... Ask $200, maybe a little more.
Unfortunately without a name they have no true value as the name is what gives value and "reputation" standing behind the product of quality being there.
Whitman has a name and history... but it also needs attention and work so that hurts you.
Sizes are good for "resale" but the attention to details hurts you here $$ wise.

Here is a link to what Whitman was, made and where they were manufactured and when...interesting and if you have the # you might be able to better put a $$ on the saddles worth...enjoy the read.

I have learned I can always negotiate lower, but if I start to low I spite myself.

I took a guess since I have seen "names" going for more but name recognition is there...
I have also seen in tack shops on consignment some pretty crappy quality no-name saddles in $600+++ price range that I thought was NUTS!!! I personally would not of paid 1/2 that amount for the crap...people pay and ask what they can get.
One saddle I saw was obviously a ebay "special" that should of cost "saddle only" $199 and was consigned for $900....crazy. Bet it is still there, I wouldn't take it if you gave it to me it was such junk!

Have you a local tack shop you can take them in for a evaluation of their quality and worth?
They would be able to give you a fair pricing and even may be worth consigning them to them and give them a piece of the pie and you not need to deal with it...

Once a evaluation of quality and worth is done, do craigslist listings if you want to do "private selling". Each saddle a separate listing, with nice pictures of it on a plain dark towel or pad to show it off..nothing distracting in the background.
Make sure it sits correctly on the metal stand too not jutting high or low but even. Show the stirrup bars, billets, name plates and size stamped if they are there.
Also a tape ruler of the width of the saddle {like people do with western} may help. What you may think as narrow may be regular width to others. Also find out if these have spring trees or what kind of tree if you can...could help to sell the saddle.
Beware of the scammers out there looking to rip you off... do a safe transaction and meet someone if they want to see the saddle in a public place, not ever at your home or theirs...be safe and smart!!
Good luck.

Whitman = excellence in saddlery: made in England, been around for a very long time. If the stitching is loose but no torn leather or completely pulled apart its a reletively easy to remedy repair. This saddle is "old style" but seems to be in decent condition (by what I can see in the picture) and is still in use today. A person wanting a decent made saddle for hacking around or for schooling would benefit from this saddle and since its a narrow twist would be a find for those with narrow builot horses (which can be troublesome in saddle fit.) This saddle alone is worth more than the two following saddles put together. If I was in the market for an enlgish jump saddle I would make you a deal right here on the spot.

I can almost bet that second one was made in India. Its typical Indian style . Its an AP but is trying to simulate a Dressage effect by the elongated flap. Your looking at about 100$ give or take a few. If your lucky maybe $150.00

The third is an AP with a very deep seat. I cant begin to say where that one came from. COuld be India or Pakistan or BFE somewhere. That pommel is aweful high looking but might clear the withers of a high withered animal. Fitting otherwise might be questionable. 100$ max.
