I have used the Bares. I HATE them. Your horse can have NO flare to it's hoof or you won't be able to fit it in the top. They are also much more difficult to tighten as you will need a screwdriver or other flat edge to adjust the screws. I will only use the Epics now due to their ease of getting them on and off.
Also, please make sure you have the right size. AQHA13, please don't ride your sisters horse in the ones that are too small. You will only hurt the horse more. Please get him proper fitting ones as ones that don't fit correctly are more of a hazard than a help.
Also, please use caution using the Easyboot Grip. Those are solely made for use on snow, ice, or rain slicked conditions. They clearly state NOT to use them on dry footing of any kind.
Kris, if I were you, I would get the fit kit from Easycare to ensure you get the right size. Then check the hoof boot exchange group on Yahoo. You will be able to pay close to half of what they would cost new and most of them are just barely used!
