Hooves clicking occasionally...what to use?

Lately I've noticed Sonny's hooves hitting each other occasionally. He usually doesn't do it, but if he's upset at me he does ...and I don't want him to hurt himself.

There was some type of boots I saw....bell boots I think they were, but they were plastic, and you had to roll them on the hoof, and they looked like it would be a pain in the butt to get on and off each time I ride.

What else, besides those plastic boot things is available, that works great, but is easy to get on and off?

I've used rubber bell boots, and they were a pain to get on and off!

My QH overreaches and I use SMB Overreach boots: http://www.profchoice.com/htmldocs/p...prd/bb25x.html They're really easy to get on and off. Occasionally they'll spin around when he's wearing them but not all the time.

i use rubber bell boots, but not the pull on kind. It's the velcro kind and i find they work well.

I've used bell boots before and they weren't a pain at all get the velcro kind its a lot easier and they work well

Anyone use them or have used them? What did you think of them? They look fairly easy to get on and off since it has velcro on them...and it says "No turn" so it is supposed to stay in place.

Also, it says it only comes in size Medium. How can I tell if that's the size I need? There is no sizing chart on the website, and I hate to buy it and find out it doesn't fit, then have to go to all the trouble of trying to see if I can bring it back

They look great cause it's a bell boot, and ligament protector thing in one.

i would look on another website and find a chart that will tell you what size he is. Or you could always call up and ask them.

I believe i got my mare a pair of mediums. I figure small is pony size, medium is horse size,and large is warmblood size.

I could be wrong, but that's how most things are sized.

that sizing is that I thought also. I might just go to a local tack shop and get some there. That way I could easily return them. Just thought that the horse.com website had good prices on them haha

I use rubber bell boots (no rubber), but i keep them on all the time. Some horses that interfere undersaddle will interfere when they're turned out as well.
