Thank goodness I DIDN'T see this until today, otherwise I would be buying stuff I don't really need but have no control over accumulating!

I Needed reins. I also need a couple of new headstalls. I've been using late 1980's-early 1990's vintage bridles. DD has promised to go through my old, VERY WELL OILED tack and see what needs to go.
I dunked all of the new leather in a bucket with Neatsfoot oil, let sit and finish "bubbling", then ran all the excess oil off, and then I slathered on saddle soap. I then hung them. I'll give them a good week before using, so that it all soaks in.
The thing is, a horse can break a cheap rein as well as an expensive one, so I love cheap leather for schooling.
