How do you properly wrap polos?

I know a lot of people don't like polos, and I don't use them myself. But, one of the girls I ride with uses them and has problems getting them to stay on. I told her that she was probably doing it wrong, and she wants to do it correctly. She won't stop using polos, so I thought I would ask here how to do it correctly. I know someone knows. So, please help, before something bad happens to her horse!

I don't know that you have to if the polo is wrapped properly and the velcro is secure, but I use it when I do standing wraps. So...I'll probably tell her to do it. Thanks ilovestitch!!! I'll have to print that...she has no internet.

First, have someone knowledgeable show you in person, polo's can damage and injur your horse if put on incorrectly. Wrapping is an art that can only be shown and taught in person - not online.

And I have never seen anyone, who uses polo's, use duct tape.

Perfect advice!

I too have never seen anyone use duct tape on a polo wrap.

Green Broke
They sure shouldnt fall off if they aree wrapped correctly, or maybe they are a really bad brand? How to Wrap Polos - wikiHow
But chances are that the polo will break if the horse steps on it or something, if it is a fleece polo* if it isnt then maybe you could recommend to her fleece polos, I love them, and they are super safe.

I agree to have someone who can wrap properly show your friend how to put them on. That way they can explain stuff as they go... there is only so much you can learn from reading something on the internet.

The only time I've seen duct tape on polos was at a polocrosse clinic for pony club. I guess as a "just in case" precaution.
