How do you wash and care for your show blanket???

I have a traditional Acrylic Horse Saddle Blanket; hand made saddle blanket made of Cotton and acrylic material. Saddle blanket weighs approximately 2 pounds. Color - Green

I know that this blanket is washable as the tag stated it when I pulled it out of the bag. It is a single layer blanket that I put over my existing pad for show purposes. However, I am not sure if it is safe to put it in the dryer on tumble dry low or to set it out to air dry.

How do you normally do after you wash your cotton / acrylic blend show blankets? Do you air dry them or dry them in the dryer and on what setting?

My old show pad was stuffed and quilted. Machine washed COLD (important. Cold keeps color better.) I threw it into the dryer (NO HEAT unless it's already been shrunken) and it looked fine afterward.

Then I got a new, more formal one (the old one was bright yellow ) and it has little or no filler, but it is quilted. I plan on machine washing it, as the instructions allow me to, but will dry it flat. Do not hang it from a clip, it can warp. If it still is wrinkled I might iron it.
