Question How to get my pad white again? Please help.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this has been asked before. But I have a fleece shaped pad and although I've tried washing it with bleach, it still doesn't come out white. I really want to avoid getting a new one because it's hard to find one that fits my saddle properly. Any advice or tip is greatly appreciated!!

I washed the fleece cover to my barn owners gel pad last week, it was nearly black it was so dirty. What I did was wash it in the tub(at work) with whitening dog shampoo(I used bio-groom brand since I don't like it for the dogs lol). Before I washed it with the shampoo I rinsed off most of the dirt, then I washed it twice with the dog shampoo. After that I put it in the washing machine with detergent and bleach. It wasn't brilliant white, but considering how dirty it was I think I did a pretty darn good job! I imagine if the pad wasn't so dirty it would have looked like new.

ETA:if you do use dog shampoo, make sure you rinse it really well before putting it on the washing machine or you will have massive bubble overload lol

If you bleached it and it still didn't come out bright white, it probably won't. Just like white clothes, after awhile, they are done. I have black wool shaped pads for schooling and the white ones for showing only. Those remain bright white with a bit of rinsing as they only used on freshly bathed horses.
