I acquired this saddle from my dad several years back after I rode in it and fell in love with it. It is a hand made saddle from R.E. Donaho from San Angelo, TX with # 8263. It is stamped 4 times, once on each fender, and twice behind the cantle. It is fully tooled. A couple of months ago I took it to tack shop to have it cleaned and a few things replaced on it. The guy that owned the shop said that the saddle was made by a guy that made some very good saddles and to never sell.

Well the saddle is 17 inches and has fitted every horse that I put it on. Everyone, big and small, that has ridden it fell in love with the way it rode, except that it is heavy.

I took these pictures right after I oiled it.

I would like to know what type of pattern is on this saddle, and if anyone knows anything about this saddle maker, possible age, and type of of usage for this saddle?.
