How to store "not-in-use" saddle?

I practically don't use my western saddle at the moment, but I don't want to sell it (as it took me lots of efforts to find one to fit me and both horses + it's still in like new condition (even after 2+ years of use) + it's not a cheaper one + who knows what I decide to do tomorrow ). So what's the best way to store it? It's leather, so I cleaned/conditioned it and put a cover and it just sits on saddle rack in my garage now. Is that enough or it's better to do something else to keep it in condition it is now?

I would store it inside, so it's less suseptable to mold and mice. Every 6 months take it out and clean/condition it again. If you find any mold, use straight white vinegar to kill the mold before cleaning and conditioning.

That sounds great! Maybe keep it in your basement if you have one so the uncovered parts won't get mildew-y. If not, Put a blanket or an old towel over the uncovered parts.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail...
