How to tell if western saddle fits?

Okay so I have a new western saddle on trial for my gelding and I have always ridding english so im not really sure what to look for in a fit for western.

I havn't had a good ride in it yet just at the walk but when I got on it didnt move!(thats a big thing for me) and with and without a pad I ran my hand under the saddle by the shoulders and there where no spots where my hand got stuck it ran smooth so it seems to have proper shoulder space for freedom of movement.

once I have a good ride in it I'll also look at the sweat to make sure there are no voids but anything else to look for thats different in western than english?

It would be helpful if you could post some pictures with and without the saddle pad. Take them from a little distance and from all angles.

A little rule of thumb (without a pad) but if the saddle tips up in the back (does not sit properly) and the line of the skirt is not parallel to the ground, then the saddle could be tipped down in the gullet area and indicates a saddle that is too wide.

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.

Hey yeah I will take some pictures I havnt actually had the saddle I'm trying on my horse yet. I was taking a riding clinic and the clinician was talking about saddles and showed a few that he liked it was the last day so I could only set it on and do some walking before they had to pack up. anywhoos I'm going out today...if the wind dies down, horrah for 100km wind!
