My gelding skids tons, If I don't have some sort of covering he will literally rub himself raw after just one run (Found that one out the hard way..). The place he burns the most in right above his hoof and to his fetlock. So, leather skids do not work for him. Neither do 90% of the other skids they make because they're not long enough! Veerrryy frusterating. It also doesn't help when the biggest tack store in town tries to convince you the only skids out there are Classic Equine's leather ones
Anyway, I'm looking at one of these two-
Classic Equine Neoprene Skid Boot
Professional's Choice VenTECH Slide-Tec Skid Boot
My only worry with either of these is that the material that stretches from the horse's hoof to their fetlock will be shredded within a couple of uses.
Has anyone ever used them? How well do they hold up? Does anyone know if they offer any support aswell?
I'm open to other suggestion if anyone has any!
