Hunter Show - Is Dark Tack Too Oldschool?

So, I have my first show ever in TWO WEEKS! No one at my barn shows, so you guys are my advice resource. Thanks!

So,

Is Dark (dare I say Havanna) tack still acceptable in the hunter world?

Most popular tack I see nowadays is oakbark or medium/lighter oiled. My dilemma: I have oakbark tack, but I use it everyday for schooling (and I don't have nice oakbark reins). Then I have a gorgeous N. Pessoa saddle & Arc de Triomphe bridle in havanna. Here's my bridle drooooool:

My horse is a Paint, mostly white with sorrel on his flanks and head. And all my tack is impeccably clean.

Use the havana. You'll look silly in mismatched tack. Being mismatched at a show is more faux pas than having a color that's not currently trendy. Besides, it'll be a nice contrast with your horse.

Yeah use the havana. Marys tack and feed is like 20 min away from my house

That's kind of what I was thinking. I personally like the look of my horse in darker tack...but then my brain was worrying about sticking out from the current trends.

And my oakbark set isn't mismatched...It's just that my reins aren't the nicest quality...they're still the same color & style as my bridle though.

I conditioned my nice (dark) saddle last night. Ohhhh boy, it was so soft I wanted to cuddle with it in bed! And I tried the ADT bridle on my horse today. He looked so pretty...I think I'm sticking with the havana! Thanks for boosting my confidence guys!

Oh, I guess I misunderstood what you meant.

There are TONS of people who show in havana! In fact, a lot of the fancy high end brands (Edgewood, Delgrange, Antares, Butet, etc) still come in havana. You don't see a lot of London (yellowish) out there but I'd say you'd be right in with everyone else in either.

Idk where you live, but tack like that is still very popular on our circuit. Pretty much every colour of tack is in, as long as it goes well with your horse. Sorry, but NOTHING is worse than a dark horse in chesnut brown tack . . . Tacky . ..
That ADT bridle is GORGEOUS!! I could never afford something liek that, but you'll look great. Have fun at the show!
